'Experienced' Mayo can go all the way, says McCann

Tyrone's Tiernan McCann celebrates at the final whistle

Tyrone defender Tiernan McCann reckons Mayo are capable of winning the Sam Maguire this year but have some work to do to get there.

The Westerners upset Mickey Harte's Red Hands earlier this month to set-up Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final showdown against outsiders Tipperary and McCann feels that Liam Kearns' side will provide them a genuine test.

"They have some excellent players. Cillian O'Connor, O'Shea, and Lee Keegan is really good too," McCann told the Irish Independent.

"They were a bit more experienced than us too and I suppose they surely have the hunger as well after being so close so many times. They have a bit of work to do against Tipperary and that can be tricky for them but they are a good team and I don't see why they couldn't go all the way."

Throw-in for Sunday's game at Croke Park is at 3.30pm.
