Youth Survey;

From almost 150 parents with children actively involved in Strabane Sigerson’s, we received a response from 47 on our Parental Feedback form. The purpose of this survey was to offer parents the opportunity to provide Strabane Sigerson’s with feedback regarding the coaching their children received in 2019 within the Club, from under 6s to minors, both boys and girls.

The most encouraging finding was that 98% of parents reported that their child(ren) enjoyed attending training at Sigerson’s this year and provided reasons such as ‘It has improved their social skills’ and ‘meeting new children and learning’.

The feedback received on how we can improve was extremely encouraging and offered constructive feedback, including reviewing the time of the year which the training commences for the children.

40% of parents who responded to the survey, stated that other sporting commitments interfered with their child’s ability to attend GAA training. A finding which, is somewhat unsurprising and encouraging to see so many children keeping active across multi-sports. However, from a GAA Coaching perspective, it is something which we will continue to target as an area of improvement so that we can lower that percentage going into the next season.

All the suggestions received from the survey will be taken on board as we prepare to enter the 2020 coaching calendar and we thank all the parents who have taken the time to complete the survey. Without your ongoing feedback, we would not improve.

Congratulations;

Well done to club Referee Sean MacIntyre receiving an award on Friday night at the Ulster Ladies Dinner Dance for taking charge of a Provincial final.
