Donaghmore club notes

November 18, 2019

Youth presentation night: An exceptional year for our youth teams so plenty to celebrate. Also a great opportunity for parents and coaches to have a catch up. Due to the clubs success both competitively and in terms of the huge numbers of youth the annual presentation night will run over two evenings: U14/16 (boys and girls) will be in Quinns Corner on Thursday 28th Nov at 7pm; U8/10/12’s (boys and girls) will be in Torrent Sports Hall on Sunday 30th Nov at 5pm. Light refreshments will be served at both.

Ladies youth: look out for our winter programme for U8’s/u10’s on Sunday mornings at 10am in the Torrent sports hall.  Great weekly workout for the girls where they get a chance to continue improving their football skills and building in their teams. Also a great chance for any enthusiastic parents to dip their toes in coaching lead by our ladies senior players.

Boys youth: Fun and skills are the aim of the winter indoor sessions. Continues Thursdays; 6:30pm for P3/P4’s and 7:30pm for P5/P6’s in the Convent Sports Hall.  Charge is £5.

Wee Pats: The ever more popular Wee Pats continues every Friday in the Torrent Sports Hall from 6:30-7:15pm. Suitable for Nursery to P3 ages.  Under the stewardship of some of our senior footballers, thanks lads. Running for 5 weeks at only £1 per night.

Scór na nOg: More excitement at the Scór na nOg, as the ballad group, instrumental and recitation all prepare for the county final this Sunday 24th Nov in Galbally @3pm.  All support welcome.  Another great opportunity for our youth (U17’s) to get together, meet new friends and express their talents.

Irish Class/Rang Gaelige: Our beginner and intermediate classes come to an end this Tuesday 19th. Great feedback by all our gaelige students.  Thank-you for your interest and support. Look out for a new course running in early 2020 and register your interest early.  Thanks also to Seán Anton for delivering the course. Go raibh maith agaith agus maith sibh.

Upcoming Events: Please look out for the Club AGM provisionally set for Sunday 1st Dec.  Also the Club Presentation night which is provisionally set for January.

Thoughts and Prayers:  The club, both players and members continue to offer our thoughts, prayers and support to others in the club and community dealing with sickness and bereavement. There is a mass for our local deceased on Tues 19th November  which will be offered for our members and players no longer with us. Please attend.
