Once again, we would like to thank everyone for their continued support off this very vital fundraiser. We hosted a very successful U8 boys blitz last Saturday (17th) morning. There was talent in abundance on show on what was a great morning for football. We had visitors from Clonoe, Dungannon, Killyman and Greencastle and had everything wrapped up by the time the rain arrived. Thanks to everyone who helped out and to the parents who turned out to support our young hoops. The Under 8 & 10 boys are training this Thursday (22nd) from 7 > 8 pm. Our U10 boys will have a blitz this Saturday – venue TBC.
The U12 boys training continues on Thursday (22nd) from 7 > 8 pm. Our U8 & U10 girls train on Fridays from 6.30 to 7.30pm, as always new members are welcome. All help from parents is also greatly appreciated. U8 girls compete in a tournament in Cookstown this Saturday (24th). The U12 girls train every Monday from 6.30pm > 7.30pm. The girls have a game away to Aodh Ruadh tonight (Wednesday 21st). Our U16 girls travelled to Clonoe on Tuesday (20th) evening for their third league game. With a good few of our regulars missing, we found it tough going but the girls fought hard right to the final whistle but unfortunately came up short. Training continues on Thursday evening at 6:15pm. Next game is home v Coalisland on Tuesday 27th at 6.45pm. The senior ladies had their last outing of the league last Friday (17th) evening against Omagh. Killeeshil were able to keep the score board ticking over after a strong opening half as we continually tore through the Omagh defence. We remained dominant in the second half as our ladies were on top all over the field. Omagh responded with some lucky goals but Killeeshil were convincing winners as the game ended on a scoreline of Killeeshil 4-20, Omagh 2-5. That finishes the ladies league campaign with an outstanding 10 wins out of 10 games. Our Senior Ladies play their Championship Quarter Final next Thursday (28th) v Fintona.
The game is in Augher at 7.15pm. Following their final league game last Friday, they are also in first place in their league table and await the remaining Intermediate League games this weekend, to see who they play in the league semi-final. Our senior men faced Derrytresk at home last Sunday (19th) evening in the latest round of the ACFL and after a clinical performance, we emerged victorious on a final scoreline off Killeeshil 1-19, Derrytresk 2-4. Senior and reserve training continues this Wednesday and Friday nights at 8 pm. Our senior men face Castlederg this Sunday (25th) at 5 pm in Newtownstewart. All support is much appreciated.
