Well done to our senior men who defeated Tattyreagh away from home on Sunday on a final score line of 1-15 to 1-5, Aran McGowan scored the Strabane Goal.

The next game is away to Dungannon on Sunday 28th October at 3.45pm, Sigersons need a win to ensure their Intermediate status for 2019, all support at this game would be much appreciated.

 

500 Club Draw;

Can everyone who entered the draw please now ensure that their tickets are fully paid up to date, anyone’s ticket who is not fully paid up will not be entered into the final draw in November.

 

Youth;

 

After Halloween the annual Gaelic Start programme will resume in Melvin Sports Complex, please keep an eye on the Facebook page and in the Club Notes for more details.

 

The under 16 boys were defeated by Eglish in the Quarter Final in Sigersons on Saturday, the final score line was 1-13 to 1-7. Hard luck to the boys and their management, that now concludes the Juvenile boy’s campaign for 2018.

 

Congratulations to Drumragh on winning the 2018 Peter Duffy Tournament at Strabane Sigersons. Strabane, Owen Roes and Drumragh took part in a very competitive U13 tournament which saw many of the players play for the first time at 15 a-side on a full-size pitch. The boys took a bit of time adjusting to their new spacious surroundings but when they did, the spectators were treated to some fantastic football.

Drumragh and Strabane both narrowly beat Owen Roes in the group stages of the competition which set up a final between Strabane and Drumragh. Drumragh raced into an early lead in the first half but the Sigersons men came out in the second half and put in very spirited performance and almost produced a great comeback only for Drumragh fire over a succession of late scores and claim the trophy.

Thanks also to Peter's mum Ann and brother Rory who assisted with the presentation. Training continues for U13 on Wednesdays from 6-7pm.

Strabane Sigersons had their Go-Games end of year celebrations at PlayStations on Wednesday night past. Boys and girls from the Gaelic Start, U8 and U10 received participation certificates and received a surprise visit from All Ireland winners Christiane Hunter, Neamh Woods and Shannon Lynch. The Tyrone Ladies players offered a bid of advice to our stars, answered questions and posed for countless selfies with the O'Haire and Quinn cups.

Thank you to Play stations for the use of their excellent facilities and thank-you to everyone who assisted in the running the Gaelic Start, under 8 and under 10 groups this year.

We would like to remind all users of Strabane Sigersons to please ensure Dogs stay off the playing surface for health reasons.

Congratulations to Newtownstewart who won the Junior Championship in Healy Park recently, a special well done to former club player and coach Marty McNulty who managed the side, good luck in the Ulster Club Championship.
