Club player wished well after road traffic accident

A Donegal footballer who sustained serious injuries in a road accident has been wished a speedy recovery by his club.

Naomh Conaill player Cian Doherty, who has represented Donegal at underage level, is currently in the Mater Hospital in Dublin after the accident on Wednesday morning.

“On Wednesday morning our senior player Cian Doherty was involved in a road traffic accident while on his way to work," his club said in a social media post. 

"Cian sustained serious injuries and is currently a patient in the Mater Hospital, Dublin. All Cian’s teammates and everyone at Naomh Conaill wish Cian a full recovery. All our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Cian and we hope to see you back among us as soon as possible. 

"Mass will be offered by Fr Gerard tomorrow evening (Friday 17th) at 7:30pm for recovery and healing for Cian in St Connell’s Church, Glenties. All are welcome.”
