Louth 2-10

Cathal Mullane struck for 2-8 as Longford hit the ground running in their new season at Louth's expense in this afternoon's Kehoe Cup opener at Pearse Park.

Goals proved crucial for the Midlaners, who led by 2-6 to 0-6 at the break, with Mullane firing in their first inside the opening minute.

Louth pulled back two majors of their own - one through corner-forward Shane Maguire - but the hosts had two more to register themselves as Offaly native Jody Leonard and Reuben Murray raised green flags to help secure the victory.
