New Cork manager John Meyler has gone with an experimental selection for this evening's Munster senior hurling league clash against Limerick.

The game in Mallow marks the start of both teams' 2018 campaigns and the Munster champions show just two members of the side which lost out to Waterford in last August's All-Ireland SHC semi-final - Daniel Kearney and Mikey Cahalane, whom both came on as substitutes in the defeat at Croke Park.

All Stars Mark Coleman and Patrick Horgan are among 11 members from the loss to the Deise men last summer to be named on the bench for this evening, while eight of the Rebels U21 side which lost the Munster final to Limerick are down to start.

Throw-in at Mallow is at 5pm.

Cork (Munster SHL v Limerick): Patrick Collins; Sean O'Donoghue, David Griffin, Conor O'Sullivan; Chris O'Leary, Tim O'Mahony, Darren Browne; Daniel Kearney, Dean Brosnan; Brian Lawton, Robbie O'Flynn, Eoghan Finn; Robert O'Shea, Michael Cahalane, Jack O'Connor
