Cavan boss Mattie McGleenan looks set to be without corner-back David Phillips for the rest of the season.
The Gowna clubman sustained a serious leg injury in training recently and is believed to be a serious doubt for the Blues' championship campaign.
Having impressed in his debut season the Breffni men, Phillips looked to have nailed down a starting place McGleenan's full-back line but, according to a report in this week's Anglo-Celt, the Tyrone man has drafted Castlerahan's Fergal Reilly back into his panel to provide cover in the defender's absence.
Cavan welcome Tipperary this Sunday to Kingspan Breffni (throw-in 3pm), where a win for the hosts would cement an immediate return to Division 1 for 2019.
