Wexford have lodged an appeal into the sending off of Daithi Waters during the defeat to Longford last Sunday week.

The Model County are hoping to be successful in having the red card overturned and having the experienced midfielder available for their crucial NFL 3 clash against Offaly this weekend.

Speaking to the Wexford People, Wexford manager Paul McLoughlin admitted that they need to work on their discipline, but added that Waters' dismissal was very harsh.

"While we have to improve on our discipline, I still believe the sending off was harsh. Discipline is still something we are working on," stated the under pressure manager.

"Both sides need a win, it's as simple as that. We have been doing reasonably well but not well enough to win. We have to try to do that bit better, so that is what we will be looking for this Saturday."
