Waterford manager Tom McGlinchey may be forgiven for feeling that the GAA Gods are against him of late, but he is looking to the positives from their campaign so far.

The Deise are joint bottom of the NFL Division Four table with one point alongside Limerick, while they have been unlucky in their other three games, with some questionable refereeing decisions going against them.

McGlinchey is looking on the bright side though and he told the Waterford News & Star that the emergence of some new talent is a major positive for them.

"As I said to the players, there are plenty of positives to take so far," said McGlinchey. "We brought in Joe Allen and he did very well. Jack Mullaney got 35 minutes into him, he had a serious injury from the Fitzgibbon.

"In terms of the fitness levels, we finished our last game [versus Carlow] stronger at the end. It was 2-10 to 0-06 after 50 minutes and then we outscored them 2-03 to 0-02 in the last twenty."
