It turns out that Ger Loughnane was anything but 'neutral' during the recent Liam MacCarthy Cup decider between Tipperary and Kilkenny.

The two-time All-Ireland winning Clare manager was very much in the Premier County's corner according to his fellow RTE pundit Henry Shefflin who made the revelation on The Ryan Tubridy Show, which was broadcast live from the Ploughing Championship, earlier today.

"Liam Sheedy was there, Tipperary man, obviously he was very biased to Tipperary and Ger Loughnane was supposed to be the man in the middle but at half time he wasn't neutral because he was telling Tipperary to go out and 'bury the Cats' so I was up against it that day."

The Kilkenny legend also spoke about how his six-year-old son Henry jnr has made a good recovery from a foot injury he sustained in an accident with a lawnmower at the family home in May.

"It was a traumatic time. He had a lot of surgery and stuff.

"We were back there (Crumlin hospital) two weeks ago and we got some good news the other day that we're out the other side of it."
