Tipperary players and fans perform the Icelandic soccer clap in Semple Stadium

The Icelandic soccer clap made a special appearance at Tipperary hurlers' amazing homecoming celebrations last night.

Thousands of Tipp supporters flocked to Semple Stadium to welcome home the Premier County's all-conquering All-Ireland SHC and MHC winning teams.

Joy was unrestrained as the silverware was paraded and euphoric players and supporters acknowledged each other.

And there was a real special moment when an impromptu rendition of the Icelandic clap broke out and hairs stood on the backs of necks.

When Tipp manager Michael Ryan said that "we are home in our pitch, in the capital of hurling, which is Thurles", we just knew it was true.
