Former Hurler of the Year Lar Corbett will return to training with the Tipperary senior hurlers tonight.

A knee injury has kept the two-time All-Ireland winner sidelined so far this year and there had been question marks over his inter-county future but The Irish Daily Star reports that he will rejoin Eamon O'Shea's squad tonight.

Meanwhile, Corbett's Thurles Sarsfields club-mate Michael Cahill hopes to be fit to line out in Sunday's Division 1 semi-final against Waterford.

The corner-back underwent hip surgery on January 7 and has returned to training in recent weeks.

"I was lucky enough with the week's training last week (in Spain)," Cahill revealed. "But it's game time I'm looking for now. Whether that's training games or club games. That's what I'm looking for, to get me back up to pace.

"Because you can do all the fitness you want, but when you're put in a match situation, marking some fast fella, you need to be up to the pace."

Tipp will be without Noel McGrath, Darren Gleeson, Cathal Barrett, Denis Maher, Kieran Bergin and the suspended Seamus Callanan for the penultimate clash with the Deise.
