The All-Ireland football and hurling finals were among the 10 most watched television programmes on RTE this year.

The drawn hurling final between Kilkenny and Tipperary on September 7 took 10th spot after pulling in 784,000 viewers. It finished one place behind the All-Ireland football between Kerry and Donegal, which had an audience of 826,000. The replayed All-Ireland hurling final on September 27 failed to make the top 10.

The most watched sports event, with 878,000 viewers, was the Irish rugby team's Six Nations victory over France in Paris on March 15. With just 20,000 fewer viewers was the FIFA World Cup Final between Germany and Argentina in July.

As expected, the crime drama Love/Hate was a huge ratings winner for the national broadcaster, claiming five of the top 10 spots on the list. The coveted top spot went to The Late Late Toy Show, which had nearly 1.4 million viewers last month.
