First 15 minutes will tell a lot, says Sheedy

Liam Sheedy reckons tomorrow's All-Ireland SHC final replay could be won and lost in the first 15 minutes.

Speaking on RTE Radio's Morning Ireland programme this morning, the 2010 All-Ireland winning Tipperary manager said: "The goal chances Tipp created in the drawn match was phenomenal. They'll be looking for a similar performance.

"That's what makes tomorrow's night's match intriguing because Kilkenny, normally, if you catch them on the hop once it's very hard to get them on the hop a second time.

"So I'm really looking forward to the first 10, 15 minutes of this match just to see how the two teams set up.

"I think we could be in for a rip-roaring first 10, 15 minutes, whoever can get their noses in front and build up that few points cushion, I think they'll put themselves in a winning position."

Tipperary posted a whopping 1-28 (1-24 from play) in the drawn encounter, and the Portroe man believes a repeat of that scoring form could be enough to see off the Cats.

"I think the Tipperary forwards are a unit. They seem to be very much in train with each other. Their movement is extremely good," he added.

"They had the Kilkenny backs and were able to drag them out of position. I think that played to their advantage. Kilkenny like to be in their place and in their corners and play in their wings and I think Tipp managed to move them out of those and move them left and right.

"So I think Eamon O'Shea (Tipperary manager) and his backroom team will try to do that again because when this Tipp forward line get moving and they get the open spaces in Croke Park, we've seen how deadly they are."
