Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy admits that he is pleased by the form shown by Seamus Callanan, even so early in the season.

Callanan scored 2-08 in the win over All-Ireland champions Limerick in the opening round of Munster Senior Hurling League last week.

And Sheedy has been impressed by the form of the experienced forward as he told the Tipperary Star that the Drom-Inch player had recovered from niggling injuries that hampered his form this year.

“You would be really encouraged with Seamie,” said Sheedy. “It was difficult for him last year with the injury he had, but the way he applies himself in training is brilliant.

“It would be very easy for a guy like him who is so well established and has done so much, but he is in there and he is pushing it on for the younger guys.”
