Carew tips Harps

September 07, 2016

Sligo manager Niall Carew feels that Eastern Harps can build on their surprise win over Tubbercurry in the SFC quarterfinal.

The Harps produced a scintillating display over the former champions to book their place in the semi-final where they play favourites Tourlestrane.

And Carew has been impressed by their form this year and he told the Sligo Champion that they could cause another surprise or two.

"The biggest surprise of the competition so far was Eastern Harps beating Tubbercurry," stated Carew.

"I saw them play against Coolera and I really would thought they would kick on from there. They have the spine of a really good team there with the likes of Jason Perry, Brian Curran, David Kelly and those lads.

"They have won the championship previously too. Harps have been impressive though, I really think they could be the dark horses of the competition."
