FL3: Rossies come up trumps in Connacht derby

Roscommon warmed up for their FL3 final date with Cavan with a three-point victory over Sligo - but manager John Evans reckons there is serious room for improvement.

There was nothing at stake except pride for both sides and Sligo went in at the break holding a 0-5 to 0-4 half-time lead.

James Kilcullen netted the game's only goal in the 48th minute but it wasn't enough to prevent the Yeats County from slipping to a fourth defeat.

"Nobody could be happy with that performance," Evans said to the Irish Independent afterwards.

"There may be a plus to winning your first five games in the league but there's a minus as well, and the minus is the last two games when they don't count for anything. It's hard to get guys motivated."
