Shannon Gaels club notes

There was mixed luck on the playing field last week.  Our minors were defeated on Wednesday evening by Clan na Gael.  The U14s came out winners against St. Michaels and their next game is against Kilglass on Thursday evening in Croghan at 7.30. The U16s had a comprehensive victory over St. Failes on Sunday last in what were terrible conditions for playing football.  They are now through to a semi final. 

Our Junior team were defeated by Eire Og in Tansey Cup on Sunday last.  Team: C. Sweeney,N. Lynch, M. Mulvey, D. Horan, S. McDonnell, N. Leydon, S. O'Dowd, C. Lynch, F. Finnerty, D. Marron, O. Flanagan, K. Lynch, C. Harmon, M. Michael, M. McDermott, J. Deane, J. O'Hart, Jason O'Dowd, P. Cummins.  Their next game is the 5th August against St. Barrys.  The clubs annual gate collection took place in Cortober on Sunday.  Many thanks to all who contributed to it.

Lotto:  Results from draw on the 26th July, numbers drawn 6,12,13 &29.  There was no winner of jackpot.  20 euro winners Shay Morahan Glenpatrick, Pauline Madden Boyle, Laurence Woods Inver Gael, Haulie Carney Elphin, Ann Ward c/o Dickies.  Next draw takes place in Thatch on Saturday 8th August.


Ladies:

Well done to our Intermediate team who secured their third win in the championship with victory over Boyle  by a margin of 1-13 to 1-06 on Saturday evening. Thanks to Chris, Fergus James and Paul for their efforts in preparing the pitch for the game and to all who helped with food preparation for the team after the game.
Their next game is against Western Gaels on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The club wishes Caoimhe O Dowd, Elaine Mcdermott and Roscommon U16 team and management the very best in the All Ireland Final versus Waterford.  The game takes place on Wednesday evening in Nenagh at 7pm.
Best wishes also to Sorcha Bruen and Niamh O'Beirne and the Roscommon Intermediate team who take on sligo in Ballinamore on Saturday at 3.45 pm.
The U14 and Minor championships will get underway in August with the Minors first game away to Strokestown on Tuesday 4th August at 7pm.
