The first half was a very even affair with Dominics scoring a good goal in the 3rd minute from the boot of Brian Carney but Castlerea responded well with five points on the trot before Ollie Milton pointed in the 18th minute. Castlerea added a point in the 20th minute to open a two point lead but Dominics then took control and added three points, two Conor Fallon frees and a great long range free from Kenny O'Beirne. On the stroke of half time Castlerea levelled matters to leave it 1-4 to 0-7. Dominics struggled to gain possession around the middle in the second half and Castlerea dominated in most sectors and ran out comfortable winners with Dominics only score coming from a good long range point from Anthony Kelly. Our U12 ladies played at home to St. Brigid's in round 2 of the championship on Sunday, 19th. With 13 girls on the day St. Dominic's put in a great performance. Unfortunately the result did not go our way full time 1-1 to 3-4. The quarter final of u14 Feile took place last Wednesday 15th April, St.Dominic's v St.Faithleach's . St.Dominic's were convincing winners, times, venues for the semi-final to be confirmed at a later date. The final of the u16 championship took place at Hyde park St.Dominic's v Clann na nGael. At half time St.Dominic's were leading 1-2 to 7 points it was a very close exciting game St. Dominic's had a few shots denied by the woodwork. Full time score 2-5 to 3-9. The girls were unlucky on the day however they can be confident knowing that they gave it their all.
