Evans looking to move on

The four week gap didn't help Roscommon against Laois last Sunday according to their manager John Evans.

The Rossies surprisingly surrendered their unbeaten start to the league against the O'Moore County in Portlaoise when finishing on the wrong end of the 2-17 to 0-16 scoreline.

"Any team in Division Two can beat any other team," Evans pointed out to The Roscommon Herald.

"We had momentum four weeks ago after winning in Down. But four weeks is a mighty long time and we seemed to have lost the momentum that we had.

"But, let's face it, everybody knows that Laois have survived here for the last three or four years in Division Two by doing what they did today.

"They have been surviving in the division, and they survived today. Their backs were to the wall and they fought hard. We certainly didn't match them."

An away assignment against Kildare on Sunday is next on the agenda for Evans and his players.

"We have to move on. I've just been talking to the team about that. There's no point beating themselves up. They've already been beaten in the game, so it's about getting themselves ready for next Sunday."
