The junior men's team defeated St Brigid's in the Tansey Cup last Sunday in O'Rourke Park, credit must be given to both teams on a good game of football in terrible weather conditions. The u16 boy's league game against Western Gael's last Sunday was called off after visiting Frenchpark and Ballinameen pitches due to waterlogged playing surfaces. The game is re fixed for Saturday 28th February in O'Rourke Park at 4pm. The u16 ladies play Western Gael's in their first outing of the year on Sunday 01st March in O'Rourke Park. Registration is now due and can be paid to registrar Maggie Bermingham, any team manager or any club official. Training for all intermediate and minor ladies continues on Friday evenings at 8-30pm in O'Rourke Park. A six week training programme for u6, u8, u10 and u12 boys and girls continues in the Hub Friday evenings. Under 6 and 8 from 6 to 7pm, under 10 and 12 from 7 to 8pm. All existing club members are welcome to attend; new members will be warmly welcomed. Registration will take place on the night, u12 €15 per child, family membership €120. There was no winner of the lotto jackpot of €9,500 on Friday 20th January. Numbers drawn on the night were 7, 12, 15 and 20. €50 winners on the night were John Cullinan, Padraig Moran, M & L Keane and Annie Sammin. Next weeks jackpot is €9,600 and the draw takes place in The Cosy Bar on Friday 27th February. Tickets on sale in shops and pubs in town or any club official at €2 per panel or three panels for €5. The Roscommon LGFA are hosting an event in Trinity Arts Centre on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th February at 8pm. This one man play Paul Potts Guide to Walking is written and performed by Seamus O Rourke and has being receiving rave revues countrywide.
