Chairman proud of players

St Croan's chairman Gary Cunnane is adamant that it has been a marvellous year for the club.

Cunnane admitted to the Roscommon Herald that he was proud of the side's performance over the last 18 months, even though it ended in disappointment last Saturday when they were beaten by Ardfert in the All-Ireland club IFC final at Croke Park.

"It was very disappointing to lose the final, but it has been a marvellous year," said Cunnane. "It was great to get to the final. You expect to win county finals. Well you don't expect too, but you try to win county finals. And then you push on and win a Connacht.

"It's been a fantastic year and a great journey. Look at the support we had. It was phenomenal. It was incredible to see. So I think we still got a lot out of it as a club, even though we were disappointed in the end."
