Quarterfinal weekend in SFC

September 10, 2014

This weekend sees the four senior football championship quarterfinals take place.

In an attractive schedule, Kiltoom will host a double header on Saturday evening and Dr Hyde Park host the final two matches on Sunday afternoon.

The first quarterfinal sees Roscommon Gaels take on St Faithleach's at 6.30pm and the former go into this match as slight favourites.

Possibly the tie of the round sees defending champions St Brigid's take on Clann na nGael (8pm) and this could be a tight game indeed, but the All-Ireland club champions should progress.

Then on Sunday, we have Western Gaels take on Castlerea St Kevin's (3:45pm). Last year's beaten finalists have their injury concerns, but should come through this one.

The last match of the round involved Padraig Pearses and Strokestown (5:30pm) with the Pearses getting the nod to advance in this one.
