Offaly - BIRR FOOTBALLERS OUT IN THE COLD...

a bit hard by Ferbane not accepting the two Birr lads...two good players with inter county experience...would be an asset to Ferbane I would have thought given the way Rhode seemed head and shoulders above them in the county final in October...I hope politics hasnt come into it from a Ferbane point of view..both lads would probably get on the Ferbane team..Ime no expert but Birr have kept plugging away at the football in recent years and its a pity to see the two players concerned not getting Senior football thats all...

In fairness I'd say its hard on Birr to not put in a team. They have always been competitive in football and its disappointing to see that's now gone. I wouldn't necessarily blame Ferbane either. If they took these players in that means leaving out 2 players who have come through the ranks, that could lead to resentment and fighting in clubs and Ferbane seem to have their act together in underage. The key for them is to bring that through to senior. Looking at their under 21s this year they seem to be on the right track

Ime hearing they didnt want to win a county final (if they do that is) with outside players...I can see where they are comming from.but its not as if these 2 lads were not happy in Birr..they were not getting Senior footbal..I can see why they wanted to play with Ferbane or any other club..its not exactly poaching on Ferbanes part..the two lads approached Ferbane from what I hear...
