Eamonn Kelly has handed Colin Egan the captaincy of his Offaly senior hurling team.

The Belmont man takes over the role from Dan Currams, who captained the Faithful County in 2015 under Brian Whelahan.

Egan's first game as skipper will be against Clare in their Allianz HL Division 1B opener in Ennis on Sunday.

James Dempsey (Kinnitty) and James Mulrooney (Seir Kieran) will act as vice-captains.
