Then inside the last 10 mins the sides exchanged 2 points apiece before the decisive moment of the game came on 27 mins when Raheen raised their first green flag when Declan Byrne won a kickout immediately punching it to Paddy Rigney who soloed into the square where his kiked shot was stopped by the keeper but Paddy managed to punch the rebound to the net. A further point each from placed balls followed before the end of the half which Raheen led by 1-09 to 0-05. Walsh Island cut the deficit to 4 with the first 3 points of the second half before Raheen brought it straight back to 7 on 7 mins as they struck for the second goal when Padraig Bracken's shot from midfield was caught by Richie Reynolds on the endline before turning and shooting past the keeper to the net. MINOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Na Fianna Minor Footballers suffered their second defeat in their 2nd Rd of the Championship against Clara last Wednesday in Geashill on a scoreline of 4-11 to 1-09. This result means Na Fianna's aspirations of reaching the A Championship knockout stage are over for this year and they will have to be content with competing in the B Championship knockout stage. Na Fianna opened the scoring with the first 2 points inside 5 mins before Clara got off the mark to draw level. Na Fianna retook the lead before 2 quick breaks through the middle saw Clara get in to score 2 goals midway through the half to set them on their way. Na Fianna responded with their goal in the 23rd min when Dylan Hyland's free from out on the sideline was punched to the net by Ray Daly but the concession of a 3rd goal in the final min sent Clara into the break leading 3-05 to 1-05. Na Fianna again scored the first 2 points of the half but the loss of influential forward Dylan Hyland to a black card proved decisive as Na Fianna could only mange 2 more points and Clara wrapped it up scoring 1-06.

U14 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Na Fianna U14 Footballers are safely through to the A Championship Quarter Finals as runners up in their group as they safely completed their group campaign with a comprehensive win as expected against DER Gaels in Pullough last Friday evening on a scoreline of 7-21 to 1-06. Na Fianna started slowly and had to wait until the 19th min to get the first goal from Morgan Tynan by which time they had also 6 points to DER's 1. Na Fianna then added 4 points before DER's best moment of the game came in the 27th min when they got a 1. 5m free which they planted in the net for their goal. This is how it remained at the break as Na Fianna led 7-21 to 1-06. The first half may have been slow starting but the same can't be said for the early second half as Na Fianna blew out any hope of a comeback scoring 6 goals (from Adam Strong (2), Emmett Curley (2), Lee Mulpeter, Mark Kelly)  along with 3 points inside10 mins to just 1 DER point inside the first 10 mins. Na Fianna were then able to use their full compliment of subs and still managed to increase their tally adding 7 points to DER's 4 over the remainder of the game.
