DIVISION 1 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Raheen Senior Footballers are safe in Division 1 for a second year at least after completing their league campaign with a final round game against Tullamore last Tuesday week in O'Brien Pk, Tullamore which Tullamore won on a scoreline of 0-13 to 1-07 but it was much improved performance by Raheen from the previous few games. Both teams got off the mark with a pointed free apiece before Tullamore edged ahead with 3 points in a row. Then midway through the first half Raheen's hopes were dealt a severe blow when star forward Dylan Hyland was sent off but the remaining 14 dug in and over the remainder of the half Raheen added 4 points to Tullamore's 2 and so at the break Tullamore led by just the minimum 0-06 to 0-05. The first 10 mins of the second half were decisive as Raheen missed about 3 frees and 2 to 3 good goalscoring chances whereas Tullamore added on 4 points in row to pull clear again. Over the next 15 mins Raheen did manage to score 2 points but were yet again undone as Tullamore put over their final 3 points. Then with just 3 mins to go Raheen got back into it when a high ball into the square saw John Crombie go 1 on 1 with the keeper and punch the ball to the net for the only goal to cut the lead to 3 points and this is how it ended.

DIVISION 4 HURLING LEAGUE
Raheen Hurlers are through to the first final of the year for the club as they sealed their place in the Div 4 League final with a good win over Brosna Gaels in the final round last Wednesday evening in Geashill on a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-11 and so they completed the group stage with the perfect record of 4 wins out of 4. Raheen never looked to be in any danger of losing this as they led from start to finish with exception of the single occasion when Brosna Gaels drew level. Raheen opened the scoring with a pointed free straight from the throw in and added 6 more points throughout the first half with Brosna Gaels replying with 4 points. Thereafter in the second half Raheen were always in control as they added 8 more points as Brosna Gaels replied with 7 points.
