MINOR FOOTBALLERS BACK IN CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

Wondering why the flags are still up in Town? - The Eden Claims Sponsored Minor Football Team play in the Minor County Final this coming Saturday 2.30pm in O'Connor Park.  This is Edenderry's 5th Final in 8 years and the Reds are gunning for success this year.
A team that has been well guided by John Mason, Robbie Glennon and Stephen Guing have grown in confidence as the year has progressed.  Following some character building performances the team put in one of the performances of the year in the semi-final win over Clara.   Notwithstanding the fine performance again Clara, there are no prizes for winning the semi-final.  Some of the squad has tasted defeat all too often, particularly within the last year - beaten in one Minor Final, two U21 Finals and a Senior Final.  Therefore, they will be out to make amends on Saturday.
Please get out and support this hardworking group of young stars -  Remember they are the future

ANNUAL NIGHT OF THE REDS 2014

This promises to be another great night.  The Club aims to hold our annual Awards evening at the end of the current season to recognise the achievements of the club throughout the year.

The Senior Football Team will receive their Div. 1 League Winners Medals.  In addition the club will present the various players of the year awards for Ladies and Gents.  The annual Club Person of the Year, Hall of Fame Induction and other significant awards will be made.

Hopefully the Minor Football Team can make an impact in the final stages of the Championship to ensure a special night awaits them too.

The club are delighted to announce that Kerry Legend Tomás Ó Sé will be our Special Guest along with Master of Ceremonies Michael Duignan at the upcoming Annual Night of the Reds.  There are a limited number of tickets available for this event so please secure early to avoid disappointment. Tickets at 10 euro each are available from;

Willie Forde 086 833 2932
Mags Kenny 087 068 8528
Tom Lawton 087 6734 630

We are calling on all supporters to make an effort to join us at our own Pavilion for what will be a very historic night. In addition to all of the above the Club will be making a major announcement regarding the future direction of the club and it behoves each member and supporter to be there in person to hear it!

SHINTY EXHIBITION PLANNED

A member of the Edenderry Hurling Panel has been planning a very special event for Edenderry GAA for many months.  On the day of the Annual Night of the Reds (22 Nov) all of his hard work is set to pay off.  For the first time in the History of the Club (as far as we know) a Shinty V Hurling match will take place at our grounds on the Carrick Road.

A Scottish Universities Selection (Male & Female) will travel to Edenderry to take on an Offaly Camogie Selection and an Edenderry Hurling Selection.  This Hybrid game will pitt two stick carrying teams from our two Islands against each other in what promises to be a very special event.

The Scottish teams will be staying locally and will attend the Annual Night of the Reds.  So if you see a few kilts around the Town that weekend you'll know what its all about.

John McDonnell has been working nearly single handily to promote this event and he has Midlands Radio 3 on board and Irish TV.  Radio 3 will stream the games live and Irish TV hope to run a piece on the event very soon.

Keep checking our FB page and website for more details in the coming weeks.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

All members will be notified later in the week regarding the planned date for the AGM.  The 2014 Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 06 December in the GAA Centre.   All Motions and Nominations must be returned to the Club Secretary on or before the 15th of November.

Following another busy year each subcommittee is currently preparing their annual reports which will be made available one week prior to the AGM.  Members are encouraged to read the reports online prior to the meeting - if you do not have access to the internet a copy can be requested from the Committee.

As ever the AGM is the most important meeting of the year and all members are encouraged to attend.
