In their first year playing Junior C, Daingean have qualified for the county final. Daingean made the long journey to Lusmagh to take on the hosts in their final group game, knowing that if they avoided defeat, they would be in the final.
Daingean set out their stall early and took an early 0-4 to 0-0 lead, with points from Michael Connolly, Sean Ferguson and the impressive Jake Naughton. An early black card for youngster, Danny McEvoy, saw Jamie McCabe replace him. And he wasn't long stamping his authority, firing home 2 quick goals as Daingean started to build a comfortable lead. A Ciaran McEvoy 45' saw the visitors go in 2-9 to 0-4 up at half-time.
With the game as good as over as a contest, Daingean took their foot off the pedal and Lusmagh had their own purple patch. The highlight of the second-half for the visitors were two long-range left-footed scores from McEvoy and Naughton. In the end, Daingean ran out comfortable winners and will now meet either Lusmagh or Bracknagh in the county final.

On Sunday afternoon, Daingean welcomed Westmeath intermediate outfit, Ballinagore, for a challenge match. Despite being down a number of regulars, Daingean still did enough to come out on top in the end by 3 points.
