Rhode U13 Footballers
On Friday evening last Rhode U13s travelled to Doon to play St. Manchan's in the 2nd round of the Offaly championship. A close game from the off, Rhode started the game strongly and took some excellent points into the wind, but two goals from St. Manchan's ensured that the scoreline at half time left nothing in it with Rhode 11pts to St. Manchan's 2-3. Even with the wind to their advantage, St. Manchan's fought strongly to stay in the game. However, Rhode continued to press forward right to the end and finished as winners on a final score of 2-14 to 2-4.
Rhode would like to thank Dermot and the St. Manchans team for a game played with great spirit and sportsmanship. A note of thanks must also go out to the refereee Eamon O Connor who looked after both teams brilliantly.
