FIXTURES.

It's a bumper programme of championship action this coming weekend with the semi finals in both the Greenfield Foods senior football championship and the McElvaney's Waste and Recycling intermediate football championship down for decision. 1st up is the intermediate football championship semi finals that are being staged as a double header in Inniskeen on Saturday evening, Aughnamullen and Toome getting the action under way at 4 PM followed by the clash of Carrickmacross and Tyholland at 5:30 PM. Moving to Sunday it is the turn of the senior semi finalists in the Greenfield Foods sponsored senior championship, the games are being staged as a double header in Clones with Magheracloone taking on Latton at 2 PM followed by the reigning champions, Scotstown, facing the challenge of Ballybay at 4 PM.

LEAGUES.

As well as those four mouth watering championship matches there are also a number of league games being staged over the weekend as well as the final of the Silver Hill Farm senior hurling league.

HURLING.

Last Thursday evening saw the final of the under 12 hurling league between Castleblayney HC and Keady Lamh Dhearg in Shamrock Park, Cremartin with Castleblayney HC edging the result by 2 points. This Sunday sees the final of the senior hurling league which is a rerun of the pairing in the Silver Hill Foods senior hurling championship with Castleblayney HC taking on Inniskeen in Clontibret at 2 PM, while Sundayalso sees the shield final in the under 16 hurling league with Cootehill Celtic taking on Truagh at 2:30 PM. In the senior hurling league final Castleblayney HC are poised to complete another senior hurling double and will certainly go into the game as at least slight favourites to do that, given their performance and result in the senior hurling championship final, but as their minds are now turning to their upcoming Ulster intermediate club championship campaign it may be a chance for Inniskeen to make some amends at losing out in the championship decider.
