2017 CENTENARY YEAR OF LATTON O'RAHILLY GAA CLUB Latton O'Rahilly G.A.A. Club will celebrate the Centenary of its foundation in 2017,a major year of events to suitable honour the clubs foundation in 1917,its role and the achievements of club members in the Latton/Bawn area will be celebrated. SENIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE-Latton play Scotstown in the Senior Football League on Sunday next,24th July at 1.30pm in O'Rahilly park,Latton.

UNDER 21 DIVISION 2 SEMI-FINAL-Latton play Emyvale in the U-21 Div.2 Semi-Final in Emyvale on Wednesday 27th July at 7.30pm.

Minors Championship Our minors beat Tyholland on 12th July last score was 4-7 to 3-6. This progresses them to the championship semi-final on Tuesday 26th July @ 7.15pm in Sean Mc Dermotts against Rockcorry. League game on Tuesday 19th July against Cremartin see press for results.

U16's: Championship Latton play Sean Mc Dermotts in championship semi-final on Thursday 28th July in Latton @7.30.

League: Got 2 points in league match last Thursday when Cremartin conceded the game.  Next league game tonight Thursday 21st in Killanny at 7.30 against killlany.

 

U14's: Division 1 team beat Inniskeen on Saturday with a score of 2-19 to 1-8 last game in league is Saturday 30th July in Emyvale @12.00 V Emyvale and hopefully they will progress to semi-final.Division 5: Next game is Saturday 30th July Emyvale V Latton at 1.15 in Emyvale.

 

U12's: Game on Saturday 23rd July against Doohamlet in Doohamlet at 12.00.


1916 RECALLED AT ST.TIERNACH'S PARK-On Sunday last, prior to the commencement of the Ulster Senior Football Championship Final 2016,the Ulster Final of 1916 was recalled and honoured, it being the meeting of Monaghan and Antrim in Clones on Sunday 24th September 1916,which Monaghan won on a scoreline of Monaghan 2-3 to Antrim 0-2,having beaten Cavan in Belturbet on the 20th Auguest by 4-3 to 1-5 in the Semi-Final and Derry in the first round in Clones on the 2nd July 2016 by 2-5 to 0-1,the Monaghan County Board Chairman of 1916 was Frank O'Duffy N.T.,Corlatt,grand uncle of current Latton Club Chairman,Patrick Hamilton and Father of Frank O'Duffy,Corlatt.

On Sun.last the players and officials of 100 years ago,were honoured,with the Monaghan County Board Chairman of 1916,being represented by his nephew,Paddy O'Duffy,incidentially the late Frank O'Duffy N.T. served as County Board Chairman for two terms,1916-1927 and 1933-1935,his son,Vincent O'Duffy was one of Latton's,Monaghan's and Ulster's greatest ever players.

CONGRATULATIONS to Stephen Duffy, Ballybay and Kevin Malcolmson, Swanns cross, who will be ordainded to the priesthood at St.Macartans Cathedral, Monaghan on Sunday next, 24th July at 3pm.
