Universal Graphics Junior Championship

Oh Sweet Jaysus...what a game of football! My heart was racing, my palms were sweating, my jersey was soaking, my head was thumping and my legs started to get weak...and I wasn't even playing! I don't know if I can watch another game like last Sunday's encounter against Blackhill in the Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship final....I nearly had a blooming heart attack!  Spectators were treated to a magnificent and electrifying game where both teams served up an exciting and pulsating style of football and after a lively contest it finished Rockcorry 0-13 Blackhill 1-10.  The game was a tight and tense affair and during the final moments of this highly competitive match it was truly nerve-wracking stuff and the players had to dig very deep and showed remarkable character and calmness to fire over an equalising point, during injury time, to earn themselves another bite at the championship title. A draw was probably a fair result as there was very little between the teams throughout the contest. It was a ding-dong struggle and the lads never threw in the towel but really only showed glimpses of their football ability and will know that a much improved and consistent performance will be required for the next encounter which has been fixed for Saturday 10th October at 4pm. Championship titles and medals are not easily won and over the next two weeks lads you now have the opportunity to regroup, review and refocus your attention and give it another go. Keep up the good work.
Under 8  Go Games Exhibition Match
One of the highlights at last Sunday's Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship Final was the under 8 exhibition match that took place during the half-time break. There was great excitement and enthusiasm as players from both clubs (Rockcorry & Blackhill) got the chance to showcase their football skills and well done to all the boys and girls for entertaining the crowd. Later in the evening I was overwhelmed by kids and the big question..."will we be able to play at the replay?" I don't have an answer to that question just yet but when I receive official confirmation I will let you all know. Watch this space.
