Seniors:
Corduff finished stronger against Currin in round 1A of the McElvaney W & R Intermediate Championship on Sunday last  in Scotstown making it 2 out of 2 wins in the championship so far. Corduff were first on the scoreboard with a point from Gerard O'Callaghan which was to be the first of 3 for this clinical forward in the first half plus one by Keith McEnaney.   By the 12th minute both teams were reduced to 14 players with Corduff losing Philip O'Callaghan. Eventually Currin opened their account in the 16th minute and from here to half time dominated holding Corduff  scoreless for the last 10 minutes of the half. Currin went in 1 point ahead at the interval 0-4 to 0-5. Brendan McNally and Colm Marron were introduced after the restart and Brendan  opened the scoring for Corduff in the second half. Once again Gerard O'Callaghan dominated the score board for Corduff with 3 more points from Brendan and 1 from keith McEnaney. Raymond Byrne and Christopher McEnaney were also introduced for Corduff . Corduff were in the driving seat and pulled away comfortably in the second half keeping Currin scoreless for long periods of the half and securing a 4 point win. Corduff now head into this weekend's Round 2A with Carrickmacross. There is always competitive rivalry between the two sides and once more Corduff will need a big performance to earn a win against the neighbours. Throw-in is at 6:30pm on Saturday evening in Clontibret and we would like to wish the team and management good luck in this encounter. As always we call on all Corduff supporters to come out and support the team and management on Saturday evening.
Ladies:
Minors:
After a break the minors were back in action twice in the last week. Last Wednesday they defeated Doohamlet at home on a scoreline of 4-03 to 2-04. And last Monday night they were in action again away to Killanny. Elena McEnaney opened the scoring for Corduff followed by points by Eva Woods and Sadhbh Cassidy with 2 smashing goals from Keely Mee.  Killanny went ahead  at one stage during the first half but it was the visitors that were ahead by 1 point at the interval. With brilliant saves by Alana Kernan at one end and Keely Mee a threat in the forwards plus great teamwork throughout Corduff grew into the game and had an impressive 2nd half. Once again Keely Mee smashed home another 2 goals plus a goal from Elena McEnaney making it 5 goals in total plus points from Eva Woods and Elena McEnaney. However Killanny responded well bringing their goal tally to  5  also and thus narrowing the margin but Corduff's dominance continued with a win on a scoreline of 5-11 to 5-04. Subs used were Naoise Cunningham and Ellie Comiskey. Congratulations to team and management on this victory. The team was Alana Kernan, Eibhlin Clinton,Niamh Callan,Lorna Hand,Dearbhla Callan,Aoibheann Farrelly,Sarah McEnaney,Hannah Finegan,Sadhbh Cassidy,Eva Woods, Chloe Finnegan,Elena McEnaney and Keely Mee.
