Emyvale GAA Club Notes

April 28, 2015

Thank you: A massive thank you to all those on the committee, the players and those from the ladies committee for making our night with the Arch club so successful and special thanks to Bridge Downey, Alice Mc Carron and Siobhan Larkin for all their work.

Intermediate League: Emyvale had another great week winning their two league matches against Clones & Cremartin thus keeping their 100% winning record. The game against Clones was an epic battle with the result in doubt until the very end. Emyvale had to play most of the match with fourteen players & they ran their socks off & gave their best performance of the year. They chased, harried, spoiled & never gave up & even when they looked to run out of steam, they still found that bit extra & won on a score line 1:16 to 3:09. Team & scorers: Paudie Hayes, Mervyn Browne, Garreth Mc Quaid, Aaron Loughran, Conor Mc Quillan, Karl Mc Quaid, Gregory Devlin, Colin Hughes 0:1, James Bellew 1:1, David Bellew, Daniel Mc Mahon 0:6, James Mc Allister 0:1, Gavin Mc Kernan 0:5, David Mc Allister, Daithi Colton 0:2. Subs. Ciaran Connolly, Martin Mc Aree.
They had another tough encounter against Cremartin on Sunday last & had to dig deep in the second half as Cremartin reduced the deficit to two points but Emyvale held on to win 1:09 - 0:10.  Emyvale played the better football in the first half & led at the break 1:5 - 0:4. They started off the second half well but then Cremartin knocked over a few points & brought it back to two but Emyvale held on to collect another valuable two league points. Team & scorers: Paudie Hayes, Mervyn Browne, Garreth Mc Quaid, Ciaran Connolly, Gregory Devlin, Karl Mc Quaid, Aaron Loughran, James Bellew 0:2, Colin Hughes, David Bellew, Daniel Mc Mahon 1:2, Micheal Flood, Gavin Mc Kernan 0:4, Paul Mc Carron, Daithi Colton.
