Improved performance

April 14, 2015

ALLIANZ FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION 1 SEMI FINAL.

Dublin 0-17, Monaghan 0-16.

A resurgent Monaghan staged a dramatically improved performance over their game against Dublin in Clones a week previous, to come within a whisker of causing what would have been regarded as a major upset by defeating the reigning league champions and booking their place in the final of the National Football League for the first time since 1986. On the day though it just did not work out as regards the result as Dublin held out for victory by the narrowest of margins in a nail biting finish in a game where they were not allowed to dictate matters to the extent that they had been a week previous.
