Its a big weekend for three Monaghan clubs, Clontibret, Inniskeen and Drumhowan in the Ulster club football championships on Sunday. In the senior competition Clontibret take on the newly crowned Antrim champions in Clones at 2.30pm and that game is preceded by the intermediate quarter final between Cootehill and Inniskeen, that one getting under way at 12.45pm. Meanwhile in the junior series Drumhowan are seeking to get their search for their second Ulster club title off to a winning start when they take on the Armagh champions, Keady in Crossmaglen at 12.45pm. Should any these games finish all square at the end of normal time extra time is mandatory.

On the home front in the senior football league Currin and Doohamlet have been relegated to intermediate ranks for 2015 while at the top Clontibret and Ballybay are through to the semi-finals. There are three clubs battling it out for the other two semi-final places with Castleblayney on 21 points, Scotstown on 20 points and Monaghan Harps on 19 points and each with one round yet to play, so it's going to be a close call there.

Meanwhile in the intermediate football league its down to the semi-finals stage with intermediate champions Inniskeen due to meet Donaghmoyne in a rerun of the intermediate championship final while Clones will play Corduff with those two semi-finals fixed for Sunday, November 9th. At the other end Rockcorry and Sean McDermotts make the drop to Junior for next season, Sean McDermotts consigned to relegation when they lost out to Cremartin in their final round game last Sunday.

Sunday also sees the final of the junior football league with Aughnamullen and Blackhill seeking the second promotion spot when they meet in Oram at 2.30pm.

 

SCÓR NA NÓG SEMI FINALS .
The first semi final of Scór na nÓg takes place on Friday the 21st of November in Tullycorbet starting at 8pm.
The 2nd semi final takes place on Saturday the 22nd of November in Ardaghey, also starting at 8 pm. The Scór na nÓg final has been fixed for Corcaghan on Friday the 28th of November. Entries should be given to Pauline Rooney at 087-9655031 or emailed to [email protected]
