Monaghan Electrical Intermediate League action continued on Saturday last when Corduff hosted Tyholland. Both sides were slow to settle down and register scores with Tyholland first on the scoreboard in the 15th minute followed by Corduff in the 17th minute. In what was a very low scoring first half the sides went in at the interval with Tyholland ahead by a point on a scoreline of Tyholland 0-3, Corduff 0-2. The second half opened stronger for Corduff with the first of Jason Hand's goals coming in the 4th minute exposing Tyholland's defence in doing so. The sides were level once in the 9th minute but Jason Hand's second smashing goal in the 31st minute ensured Corduff edged home a narrow but very important victory. This important victory earned Corduff 2 more valuable League points putting them in top position on equal points with Clones in what is a very tight campaign. League action continues this weekend with Corduff away to Rockcorry. Details to be confirmed and will be posted on Facebook.
