Dessie Mone insists there's no 'bad blood' between Monaghan and Tyrone following last August's controversial All-Ireland SFC quarter-final.

While the game is remembered most for Sean Cavanagh's infamous rugby tackle on Conor McManus, Mone was at the centre of two flashpoints as the teams left the field at half-time which resulted in a straight red card for Martin Penrose and Conor Gormley receiving a retrospective ban, which was subsequently lifted on appeal.

"Look, what happens, happens," the Monaghan half back told the Irish News at yesterday's launch of Gaelic Performance's new range of football gloves.

"You can't look back and hold it against Tyrone. You have to move forward and that's what I have done.

"There's never any bad blood when you meet the players again. You leave it on the pitch, on the day."

Giving his reaction to last Sunday's pre-match brawl which marred the Armagh v Cavan Ulster SFC quarter-final clash, Mone said: "That's just Ulster championship.

"That's the intensity it brings sometimes. It can bring too much intensity sometimes. You just have to move on and let the hierarchy deal with whatever happens."
