Malachy O'Rourke wants his Monaghan team to make sure of promotion by beating relegation-threatened Galway on Sunday.

A win or a draw would be good enough to see the Ulster champions secure back-to-back promotions as well as a place in the Allianz League Division 2 final.

Speaking after last Sunday's hard-earned win over Laois, the Farney manager said: "The victory today puts us in a great position, but to be sure of a place in the final we have to win our last game, but that's the way we always felt it would be, that it would come down to the last game and to an extent, that's what we wanted, to test ourselves in all the games.

"So we will be looking forward to the game against Galway next Sunday, we'll prepare for it as we have done for all the games and hopefully we can do the business." Tweet
