Fr Pat Mc Cormack: Fifty years ago the parish priest of Aughnamullen East Fr. Pat Mc Cormack died suddenly. Not only did Fr. Mc Cormack make a deep spiritual impact in the parishes in which he served but he left a lasting legacy in the GAA communities of Emyvale, Clontibret Aughnamullen and further afield. For more than twenty years intermediate football teams in Monaghan competed in the championship for the Pat McCormack memorial cup. It is hoped to commemorate his legacy with a Mass and function in Aughnamullen in the near future. A short meeting of past players who played for him will take place in Aughnamullen Centre this Sunday 3rd Nov at 8pm with a view to organising an appropriate event.

Congratulations: Congratulations is extended to Patricia Flanagan Lattonfaskey & Chris Boyle Co Donegal who were married on Friday last. To Grainne Kerr Lisduff & Niall Duffy Castleblayney who were married on Friday last.

Latton Oskars: Well Done to the organising committee and actors who produced an excellent fundraising night on Saturday night last. Its great to know that there are plenty of actors in the locality especially our parish representatives Lee Conlan, Mervyn Reyburn, Lorraine Duffy & Ryan Johnston

Challenge for Elaine Tate: Monaghan will play Cavan in an Inter-county Senior challenge game to raise funds for Elaine Tate, wife of Anthony Tate who formally played with Rockcorry on Sunday December 1st in Clones. All proceeds will go towards adapting the family home to aid Elaine in her recovery from recent illness. Tickets for the game are now on sale priced €10. Please support this worthwhile cause.
