Platinum Tanks Reserve Football League Division 2B Final:

Carrick Emmets was the venue for this Reserve final between Corduff and Inniskeen. Both sides kept the supporters entertained throughout and it took extra time to separate the sides. Inniskeen were first off the blocks going 0-2 up before Shane Hand got Corduff up and running with a point and by the 12th minute Corduff went ahead following a point by Mark Keenan and a Cillian Marron goal on 1-2 to 0-3. However Inniskeen responded quickly by scores from Padraig McGahon and Trevor Hillard putting the sides level for the first of 5 times during the match. The now on target Martin Mills added to Corduff’s tally plus a Cathal Connolly goal put Corduff ahead at one end as Inniskeen’s Aidan Woods and captain Michael Monaghan added to Inniskeen’s tally at the other end. Corduff had enough done to go in with a one point advantage at the interval 2-6 to 0-11.

After the restart it was Inniskeen that made the first impression on the scoreboard with their captain Michael Monaghan and Aidan Woods on target. Jason Hand and Jamie King drew the sides level again . The now on fire Jason Hand shot home a goal while Inniskeen added 3 points to level matters once again on 3-09 to 0-18.A John McEnaney point on full time put things all square with extra time required as the score stood at 3-10 to 0-19.

In the first period of ET Jason and Shane Hand kept Corduff’s hopes alive but Trevor Hillard found the net for Inniskeen at the end of the first period putting them up by 2 points.Tiredness and carelessness became a factor in the second period of ET and a single point from Martin Mills , Corduff’s top scorer was the team’s only contribution to the scoreboard. Corduff rallied to the end but Inniskeen’s Harry Monaghan smashed home another goal and that put a total of 7 between the sides as they became the Platinum Tanks Reserve 2B Champions making it the double for 2019.
