Kiltale Report

Kiltale 0-15; Kilmessan 1-13

Kiltale lost narrowly to Kilmessan with a hard-fought game against their local rivals in Kiltale.

Kiltale started brightly with points from Peter Durnin and Fergal McCabe. Kilmessan responded with points from Darren Reilly. The holders controlled the early play with a great supply of ball going into the full forward line. They created a lot of scoreable chances but couldn't convert several good goal opportunities.

The Kiltale backline were solid throughout with good displays from captain Philly Garvey and Sean Dunlevy. The half back line of Stephen Cummins and Ronan Ryan were solid under the aerial ball and ensured a good supply of ball into the threatening Kiltale forwards.

Kilmessan started the better in the second half and brought the sides level thanks to sublime free taking from Reilly who took full advantage of Kiltale's indiscipline. The sides exchanged scores for the following 10-15 minutes until Kiltale began to pull away with well taken points from Durnin placed balls to bring day light between the two sides. Kilmessan battled hard and pushed Kiltale all the way and got a late goal to seal victory.

Both sides were missing players due to inter county commitments but Kiltale will look for improvements over the next few weeks before the next league outings.

Kiltale: O Regan , S Dunlevy, P Garvey, C Ennis, S Donoghue, Ronan Ryan, S Cummins, P Durnin, C Shirren , , Ross Ryan, B Dixon, S Whyte, S Lenehan, F McCabe.
