Troy appointed Kiltale manager

New Kiltale manager David Troy

Meath senior hurling champions Kiltale have appointed former Meath hurler David Troy as manager.

Troy will be the five-in-a-row seeking side's fourth manager in five years as Brian Gilsenan (twice), Trevor Cummins and Cathal Sheridan have all guided the club to Jubilee Cup success in the last few years.

A noted hurler for Drumree and Meath, Troy captained the Royals to All-Ireland JHC glory in 2004 in what was the last final played at that level.

Since retiring as a player, Troy has managed Boardsmill and Navan O'Mahonys in recent years, but this will be his biggest job to date.

Kiltale are once again favourites for the title, but there is no doubt that the gap between themselves and their nearest rivals has certainly closed in the last couple of years.
