I would like to know what am i missing?. Reading a lot of posts here i get the impression people expect better results than last year. Why ? What has changed ? We lost 2 good players through retirement. A few months ago it was decided to continue with mediocrity by continuing to do the same thing with the same manager ,and expect different results. At best we will have more of the same, and not a hope in hell of promotion. Seems our sponsors have got that message as well by reducing their level of sponsorship. The dogs in the street know we are too weak mentally when the chips are down to go anywhere. What has been done to deal with this massive weakness....nothing. Where is the evidence to suggest we have made ANY progress . I will not be surprised to see more players deciding to "travel" or decide to" stay "on the injured list . Ok our talent pool may not be great, but i am certain we are certainly not getting anywhere near the best out of available resources. nobull456 (Meath) - Posts: 1289 - 09/02/2016 19:38:24 1824183 Link 0 |
Everyone will just have to accept we're not good enough. Meath aren't a force in football anymore for whatever reasons. Poor showings at minor level, desperate showings at u21 level and catastrophic results in leinster senior club championship all suggest it'll be a long long time before Meath reach the heights of the Boylan era again. No manager could win an All Ireland out of what we have. Bar keoghan I don't think one player would get a place on the Dublin panel let alone the first 15. People need to forget the glory days and just accept mediocrity for the next few years. begining (UK) - Posts: 323 - 10/02/2016 12:21:47 1824337 Link 0 |
Anyone know if we have a full time Strenght and Conditioning coach? ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 10/02/2016 12:41:54 1824345 Link 0 |
I'm not saying we're doing as well as we can, but I honestly think a lot of people were unhappy that we won the O'Byrne and beat Armagh. They wanted us to lose and MOD to look bad so they could say "I told you so". Any other year, losing the 2nd round of the league away to Fermanagh after playing most of the match with 14 men would be a mild disappointment, but there seems to be a disproportionate amount of pent up rage released after losing last weekend. People were holding back while we won, then finaly got the chance to unleash it and get the boot in after we lost. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1686 - 10/02/2016 16:46:02 1824462 Link 0 |

Castlebravo You are either on a wind up, or trying to defend the indefensible. The basics of coaching/ management are at the same level now as 2,years ago. We all HOPED things would improve with Micko after 3 years but no not going to happen. I admit he has only a few players who are up to the required standard . He simply does not have it to bring on lads who need direction and leadership. Some lads like Donal K. have it in their DNA and dont need much input anyway. The proof of the pudding will be in the eating AGAIN this year. Believe me when i say i would love to proved wrong, and wrong in this case simply means we see a TEAM playing to its full POTENTIAL. I would settle for that now, I know that means no championship medals in the near future. What i will not settle for is more rubbish like last year. nobull456 (Meath) - Posts: 1289 - 10/02/2016 17:42:20 1824486 Link 0 |
