I'm outraged by this, and hereby begin the "8 isn't great" campaign... BarneysTie (Meath) - Posts: 258 - 09/02/2016 15:26:55 1824015 Link 0 |
Interesting move to increase it from €5 to €8. Royal_Gunner (Meath) - Posts: 534 - 09/02/2016 15:47:20 1824041 Link 0 |
Yes, all joking aside, what you said above it bang on RG. €5 seemed to be the sweet spot for entry & maximising the crowd. Getting out of the dark ages on the commercial front might be a better way to increase revenue. BarneysTie (Meath) - Posts: 258 - 09/02/2016 16:00:20 1824049 Link 0 |
I agree with you Barney and many folk who are interested in football go to many matches over a week period and not just their own club matches. 5 euros is sufficient when you consider families following their teams- greed is the name of the game in Irish society and indeed rife with the GAA who once had nobody getting paid. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 09/02/2016 16:33:25 1824072 Link 0 |
5 euros was a nice price,but 8 euro is a bit much especially if you want to go to a few games.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 09/02/2016 16:39:06 1824081 Link 0 |
Totally agree, living in another era, refuse to let another sponsor on the back of the jersey but prefer to bleed another few euro out of the long suffering punters! highking12 (Meath) - Posts: 184 - 09/02/2016 16:44:23 1824086 Link 0 |
I presume this is for Senior Games not the Lower grades. If so it goes back to pre Brendan Dempsey times when it was 8 for SFC 7 for IFC and 6 for Junior glenny (Meath) - Posts: 1108 - 09/02/2016 16:59:41 1824106 Link 0 |

Meath football is in serious trouble both on and off the pitch, it is so worrying its no longer a joke anymore. The blame lies firmly at the door of the county board. Our county teams are faltering, our county board and totally unprofessional and stumble from one mess to another, we have basically no main sponsor, the club structures are being tampered with and our Senior champions can't win a game outside of the county, and our main county grounds is falling apart and has had the lights taken away. Unfortunately all of the above is true. BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 932 - 09/02/2016 17:07:38 1824115 Link 0 |
