Ziggy, not sure if I would make that many changes to a winning team. This is the lineup I would go with. Still a bit concerned about midfield though but Paddy's kickouts better today as in he found a man more often..

Ah lads, .....tormey midfiel? Are yee serious...he's not fit or mobile enough too play anywhere near it. He couldn't.keep up with his man at all today, ended up going in ff which I actually wouldn't mind seeing again cause he is a good finisher. He would be a terrible.choice too partner Rooney and they wouldn't complement eachother at all.

As I said southmeathgael midfield is a worry. Reilly has been played there but he is needed on half forward line. I honestly dont know the answer with so many players out injured. Cian O' Brien perhaps?

Tobin was warming up with the players,but I would suggest its highly unlikely we will see he,or Conor O'Brien start on sunday..

Actually I have been impressed with smith, and I think he has earned his place, wouldn't rush to throw all the rathoath lads in straight away, the loss today will take its toll, and I wouldn't change a winning team too much.

I'd pick a team based on the players who have performed well in the Laois, Louth and Longford matches, rather than one based on the pecking order within the squad last season. While we wouldn't field inexperienced players in the championship (starting 15), I do not think we should be so overcautious in the league. I'd have more faith in some of the younger mobile players with the stamina and athleticism to play for 70 minutes, than some experienced ones who do not.

I think our full forward line needs to be far more threatening . Wouldn't have Newman on team never mind playing at full forward as most people suggest . Wallace will bring a much needed injection of pace to the corner , suggest McEntee in the other corner and would try Tormey on the square .Midfield we need a settled partner for Rooney .Hear Menton is back so maybe he might be worth trying or possibly Donnacha Tobin if and when he's fit . Think McGill will bring a bit of much needed height to the FF line . Would continue with the 2 new guys at wing back . .Harnon seems to have bulked up and may be worth another shot at CB . Very important to get a result next week and hopefully the crowds will continue to return .

I'm in agreement with glas, maybe one or two lads, these young guys have given a good account of themselves and deserve their chace, its a 20 man game and subs will be important, bit if we are to competitive again I think a strong healthy competition for places is, good, if you want to start now that you finished with club, prove you better Tha what's their, and dont pick on past glories.

Stating the obvious to say we have to get off to a winning start next week. Great to have had a good O'Byrne Cup campaign. Likely to take a bit of time to bed in the Ratoath and Curraha contingent which can only strengthen things. Good luck next week to Micko and the boys

Armagh will be much tougher to grind down, that's for sure but talent wise I'd say both teams are pretty even, if we're not slightly ahead so there's no excuse for going out and playing poorly. Armagh came up to Navan 2 years ago (I think it was) and beat us, which was hugely disappointing so we have to try and put that right this Sunday.

There's lots of areas I'm hoping to see improvement in this year but finishing games strongly is one the main ones, no more fade outs or total collapses.

Nice to get a bit of silverware on the table but there's no comparison with the way Longford play and how Armagh go about things. Longford played quite open which suited our boys well, whereas Armagh will almost certainly defend in depth, double mark key players and look to counter attack. My main concern is if they get on top in midfield (where we are weak) then it could make for a rude awakening. While this Armagh team are not of the same vintage as previous models, they'll provide a good test as to what progress (if any) Meath have made. The lads should be confident of getting a win but it's going to be a hard battle.
