Really bad result for hurling in this county by losing to Roscommon 4-8:3,9 yesterday. We should be streets ahead of them. From reading Meath Chronicle report the Management team took off Meath free taker when one point down and then missed a '65 to equalise at end!! Poor decision making IMO by management.

In fairness to the management before we judge them, nobody knows anything about the match at this point other than that ONE piece of information about a substitution provided by the chronicle, not even what the team was. Understandable since they want people to buy the paper to get the full story.

On the other hand, losing to Roscommon is unacceptable, even though we havent really done much of note at any level of hurling in years. Werent this same minor team beaten by about 40 points at home this year?

Only inter county team left in Meath now is the U21 hurlers. Unless the absolute disinterest I've seen (by both the players and the county board) in the last few years has changed, I can only see them getting a tanking from Kerry.

Can anyone give the starting 15 yesterday and subs used in Meath v Roscommon game?? Would also agree that CB have no interest in hurling and continually provide no support for Meath Managers. Whatever that is requested to help with training teams is always refused if it costs money. Also I hear from Meath Senior players they have being treated poorly again this year individually and as a team.

Why is Saturdays loss such a shock to anyone. People are losing the run of themselves if they think we are that far ahead of Roscommon. Remember Roscommon won the Nicky Rackard cup this year beating Armagh in the final who in turn beat us in Trim earlier this year in the league. Meath hurling is in a sorry state in general.
